C Bear smiles
Annecy, France
We went to Annecy this past weekend and it was so nice. This is Alex's favorite town in France and he always said he wanted to live here when he got older. Well, we live 40 minutes from this beautiful city and haven't been the whole time we have lived in Geneva, it was about time for a visit. C bear loved the park (and so did my other child, Alex). Thankfully we had great weather, it really makes a difference.
I spy...
We love visitors!
Visitors!!! We just had our dear friends Vic and Nikki come for the weekend and visit us, which was fabulous! Aunt Nikki did a great job with little Charlotte and it was so nice to see some old and familiar faces. Vic and Nikki have been living in Spain for the past 2 years but in 2 weeks are headed back to Miami, boo. We are definitely going to miss them, but are hoping to visit them soon enough in our old stomping grounds.(new year's on the beach anyone??) We love ya'll and thanks again for a great weekend!

Happy Easter!!
Happy Easter!! Here are a few pictures of little Charlotte on easter sunday. These are the first two outfits she had on, the third wasn't so great (she kept dirtying her clothes). We went to Alex's parents for the weekend and it was such a relief to have someone cook for us, yeah! Charlotte turned one month over the weekend. Our little girl is growing up, aww! We hope everyone had a great holiday weekend.

Alex's 32 birthday!
Yesterday was Alex's 32nd birthday and first being a father. My mom was still in town and was nice enough to bake Alex a cake. Charlotte wore herself out while we were baking the cake and ended up sleeping through Alex's birthday sushi lunch. She is so funny! We hope you had a great birthday boo and look forward to many more together.
Grandma's in town
Wow. We just had a great week with a visit from my mom. It was so nice to have a familiar face here. And my mom loved her moments with little Charlotte. Unfortunately, the week went by so fast.
We took my mom to the mountains to show her where we like to visit and tried to show her around Geneva a little bit. As best we could with the weather the way it was. It is still a little cold here to have Charlotte out for too long. And I feel like I am constantly feeding her so we had to work around that as well.
My mom was a big help with everything and we can't wait to see her again when we go back to the states. May will be here before you know it. Now all we need to do is get our little lady her passports!

Alex and Charlotte
here is a picture of alex when he was first born and the resemblance to baby charlotte is definitely there in full force. everyone keeps telling us how she looks so much like me, but after seeing this picture i am going to have to disagree. atleast alex knows she is definitely his and not the mailman's.Wednesday, March 18, 2009
Welcome to the world Charlotte!
Hey everyone! Our little lady finally arrived on March 12, 2009. We started the induction at noon on wednesday and she was born on thursday morning at 3:30 weighing 3.1 kg or 6 lbs 8 ounces, and 51.5 cm (20.5 inches) in length. She is healthy and beautiful (we're a little biased)! Labor started out as an induction with prostaglandin every 2 hours to get contractions started. We were having fun at the beginning, but then real contractions started around 8 and were incredibly painful. They did a cervical check and I still wasn't dilated past 2 cm. Horrible. So Iwent for the epidural. Best decision for pain relief. People that don't take it are CRAZY in my opinion. I could tell I was having contractions, but couldn't feel pain anymore thankfully. Well that was at 11 at night. and then around 2 they checked again and I still wasn't dilating past 3 cm. The babies heart rate was going down at every contraction. They broke my water and started oxytocin to move things along, but by 3 am nothing was working and the baby was distressed. C-section here we come. At 3:28 little baby Gamez was born and it was a great decision to perform the surgery as the umbilical cord was wrapped around her neck. They whisked the baby away to perform her checks all the while closing and reopening my incision 3 times. There was a leak in my uterus which had to be stopped and each time they closed things, they thought it was fixed, only to find that it wasn't. Anywho...long birth story there, but we are now all home after 5 days in the hospital and trying to adjust/recover. Welcome to the world little Charlotte!

41 weeks
Hey ya'll! We went to the doctor today for our weekly appointment to see what was going on with baby Gamez. Everything is healthy and normal, luckily. We got great news....baby G is checking out by thursday. YEAH!!! They are going to call us on Wednesday sometime ( no specific time given) and will start the induction. It could be 7 in the morning, or 8 at night, who knows, but we do know that there will be a baby very soon. We are super excited ,and maybe a little nervous, but mostly excited. We promise we will update as soon as she is here. Right now they are estimating that she is almost 8 pounds, but we wont know until she is here. What a surprise! Wish us luck!!

surprise, surprise, still no baby!
Hey everyone. So as you can tell, little baby Gamez still isn't here. We went to the doctor on Monday and they did some monitoring and checked out the fluid levels to see if baby G was doing okay. All is fine and they decided that she was okay to stay another week in my belly. So....we have another doctor's appt this coming Monday to check everything again. They said we can't go past 10 days from the due date. So sometime next week she should be checking out (we just don't know when and/or how). I promise I will update as soon as anything happens. And thank you so much for not asking if she is here yet. I have come to absolutely HATE that question, but that is probably because I am just impatient and ready for her to be here. I have stopped working and have a completely empty calendar for the month of march. Talk about boring!! Hopefully there will be an update soon. Love ya'll, H

40 weeks and ready to POP!!
So just a quick update.......there isn't one. Ha!! The baby is so comfy in my belly that she doesn't want to leave apparently. My due date is on Sunday, as in this Sunday, and she is still all nestled inside her warm home with no signs of wanting to leave. We have another doctor's appt scheduled for this Monday if there is still no labor. We are hoping that she will surprise us at the end and still show up on time. If not, I will just keep getting bigger and update when she FINALLY gets here. Love ya'll!

37 weeks
9 months is here finally!! Thought we would share a gigantic belly pc with everyone. SCARY!!! Haha! We went to the doctor today for our monthly check up and all is well. At first they thought our baby was measuring a little small and were worried that she wasn't getting her nutrients and then they did some measurements and found out she is very well fed and is gigantic! We already have a 7 lb baby and she can camp out for a few more weeks if she wants to pack on some more. Hopefully she decides to check out sometime soon, I think she likes it in there a little too much. We are still debating on names, but definitely know that she is a SHE. So that is good since we have a whole lot of pink in the wardrobe. Everyone cross your fingers that baby Gamez will visit us soon.
Here we are at the mountains! Again. We decided to drive up on Saturday night and wow, the roads were snowy. I have never driven on a snowy road before and was so glad that we decided to put the snow tires on, well 2 of them. We figured it was the last time before the D day to head up to the mountains for the weekend. Lots of snow, so the skiing was great.

34 weeks
Hey everyone. I went to the doctor today and everything is looking great for baby gamez. She weighs about 4 and half pounds at the moment and is right on average for size. She is still in the down position with her feet in my ribs gearing up for her departure. All bodily functions and organs are working and in good health. Today was the last appointment with my doctor before I switch over to the hospital at 37 weeks. We have about 5 and a half weeks to go before the big day (that is, if she arrives on time)!
Alex and I started the birthing classes two weeks ago and have 3 weeks left. They run every friday for 2 hours and have been a little interesting so far. All in all, I am really glad that we signed up for them. If anything, I think Alex is getting some good information which is nice since I am sure when the day gets here my brain will have flown out the window and I will have forgotten all useful information.
