Pics

Here is what happens when daddy dresses Charlotte. A coat, tutu and socks that are too small. Last week it was, pink tights, pink striped shirt, and a pink vest. Atleast it matched :)Here is Charlotte's birthday cake
We got Charlotte a golf set for her birthday and Alex is trying to explain the game. Father/daughter bonding!
We took Charlotte to the indoor water park for her birthday and on the way out she wanted to take her picture with the duck. I swear she had a great time even though she looks pained in the picture.
And here is Charlotte at one of her playgroups. It is so cute how girls and boys already divide up and play seperately. Charlotte and 2 of her girl friends are having a gossip on the big elephant chair.

Oh the things they say!

Charlotte is talking up a storm now, which is awesome. But sometimes the things she wants to say aren't exactly what come out. She is obsessed with scooters. She sees kids at the park on them and wants to touch them, climb them, etc.. When she sees them she yells, "Cooter, cooter!" Which is hilarious! Then we she tries to make a sentence with it it is even better. She has play group with this little girl named Elsie. Elsie has a scooter. But when Charlotte says it, it comes out as " Elsie has a cooter." haha! I can't wait until she is old enough to find this story funny :)

And then there are the times that what she hears and what she says are identical, much to our displeasure. This morning Alex was running around getting ready for work when he says, "Oh shit!" Of course, our parrot says, " Papa says, Oh shit." So we have had to change shit to shoot and damn it to darn it. And amazingly she knows that they go together, so she will say, "Shoot. Darn it."

There are definitely times that I am glad we don't live in an English speaking country:)

Happy Birthday Charlotte Bear!!

Ok, so it was Saturday, but I still want to write it :)

We had a very low key birthday for Charlotte Bear this year. I had so wanted to do a birthday party, but didnt plan it since the renovations are under way, etc.. I am glad I didnt now since I would have had to cancel it last minute anyways. We ended up taking her to Vitam'parc which she LOVED! It is this massive indoor water park with slides and pools. It was so much fun just watching how happy she was. She was exhausted afterward! That night we went to a friend's for dinner and she stayed up until midnight playing. Crazy lady! Needless to say she was exhausted the next day and a little cranky, oops! We didn't take too many pics, but will post them once I download them to the computer.
I cannot believe how fast 2 years has gone by. She is such a loveable little girl. She loves giving hugs and kisses and can still spend half the day in my lap sucking her thumb. When another baby or child is crying she says, "Come here, it's ok" and tries to give them hugs. Very sweet.
She repeats everything, and I mean everything that you say. Such a little parrot!
She can count to 15 (and then goes to eleventeen) and can say her ABC's. She can recognize letters A, B and C when she sees them. She also knows all basic colors and shapes (meaning she hasn't mastered fuschia and periwinkle yet, ha) She loves to sit and do flashcards and read her books. She is saying sentences. She has so many curls, as you can see from pictures. She doesn't have much hair still, more and more comes everyday, but it just curls up instead of getting longer. I love it, Alex says she will hate it when she gets older. We'll see. She has started becoming more girlie with skirts, dresses and bows. She loves to help me cook, but for Charlotte that means eating half of the ingredients before they can be added; not sure how great of a chef she will be with this behavior :)
We finally moved her to a big girl bed and she really likes it. The first few nights we started her with a mattress on the floor and we would walk in to find her in the middle of the floor, but after 2 nights she started sleeping on the mattress with no problem. Now we are full fledge big girl bed with pillow and covers (just like mommy) and she loves going to bed. We haven't put a bed rail up yet (even though we got one) because so far there hasn't been the need. (we do put a giant teddy bear, that is bigger than C, on the floor next to her bed though, just in case an accident were to happen)
We love our little C and couldn't imagine life without her. Happy Birthday C Bear!!

Charlotte with her new crown. Gotta love arts and craft days!
This is us eating dinner in the office since we didn't have a dining room or kitchen during some of the renovations. Notice Charlotte is happy as can be, while I am wedged into a child's seat. So glad that period of renovations is over with, whew!

Here is Charlotte Bear and her new skirt from Aunt Sinda. She loves it! I love it! Times like these make me love having a little girl :) SO fun!

And here is a small picture of our living room renovations when we had no living or dining room. Everything was covered in dust from breaking walls and sanding (and sanding some more). Thankfully we are now installed in the new living where I am comofortably posting on the blog :)

Update!

SO it has been forever since I last posted, so much for New Year's Resolutions :)
Not much has really happened here. Charlotte will turn 2 in 1 week, which is crazy to think, as the time as gone by so fast! When you see her tantrums and emotional craziness though, then you realize that yes, 2 is here:) Hopefully this phase goes quickly. O PLease!
We have reallz progressed on the house, thankfully. This weekend should be the final bathroom and then the entry tile. That is all the major stuff that we needed to do before we could get settled. Don't get me wrong, there is still plenty of little things to do, but they are not as crucial to me being happy and calling this place a home. Alex has been working sooo hard on the house since we moved in and hopefully at the start of April we can just relex a little. (Until the next kid gets here and turns our world upside down again).
Speaking of second baby, we are definitely having another girl. We have soo many little girl clothes so that is great! :) We are really struggling to find a name though. Well, I am, I don't think Alex has really thought about it too much. We had a really hard time with Charlotte's name as well because I put way too much thought into this. Lots of criteria go into selecting a name. And therefore I put way too much pressure on myself. Hopefully it will be nice :)
I started getting out all of the old clothes and toys from Charlotte. She thinks all the little shoes go to her bears and babies. And she tries to put the clothes on, but obviously they are way too litltle. I think she definitely is realizing something is going on, but not sure what really.
We started Charlotte out with a mattress on the floor last night and hopefully will have a "big girl" bed for her within a week. We have to use the crib for the next one so we are trying to get her used to not sleeping in it now before the next lady invades her space. Last night was fine with only one wake up, so we'll see how the nap goes for today. Wish us luck!
Otherwise, not much going on here. We are all doing well. I am feeling giant, but maybe because I am compared to last time ;) On one hand I want to hurry and see the baby, but at the same time, we have soo much to do still that I am hoping this lady doesnt come out for awhile. We'll probably be early since we are so not prepared yet.
Official due date is the 8th of May so we will keep you posted....
More pics to come soon.
