Peaceful fountain at the garden.
Marrakech was a great place to see. I have been wanting to go here for years and am thrilled to have finally been able to experience it. The food was simple, but delicious with couscous, tajine, briouates, harira soup.... The people, culture, souks, palaces and different modes of transport were all fascinating. But....it was so busy for me. I am not a crazy shopper so felt there were too many souks. In addition, the streets were narrow and motorcycles, bicycles or donkeys were constantly driving by making it difficult to spread out or walk next to someone. The riad (hotel) was amazing and it was so cool how quiet it could be when there is so much chaos outside the door. Each morning we were able to have a huge, delicious breakfast of eggs, crepes, different Moroccan breads and coffee and tea. Such a treat. I usually don't say this, but I was really glad to come home to the calm of my apartment and Nelly. May the next vacation be as interesting with great weather, but less noisy :) |
