Random Summer

3 in the bed and the little one said, "Roll over!"

If I forget to take a picture of the kids on their first day of school as it is not me taking them in the morning, this is what they are wearing. I have huge guilt that I am not able to take them to school on the first day, but hopefully this will be the last time and then they can go to school with me. I wish you girls a wonderful first day and upcoming school year. So happy for one drop off and pick up!!

Ms. Mustache

Charlotte on the zip line. We went to the zoo about an hour and a half from here and Charlotte spent a good part of the time doing this. She loved it!

Back to the beach, but this time to play on the giant slide.

I love the joy on their faces. And that Charlotte is looking to take care of her sister. I know they love each other but the love shows through in this photo.

Super impressed that Emilie tried the trampoline

Adventurous mama. She is fearless (except around dogs)

Meeting up with old friends that we haven't seen in at least 2 years. Really really nice to catch up.

Alex and I took the kids to the beach to try paddle boarding. At the end, each of us took C out for a ride in the lake. I really liked this activity and the next day could feel my legs from it. Hopefully the next time I try this we will have sunshine.

Waiting. Rocky beach in Versoix.

Versoix, Suisse

These two ladies melt my heart. We had a wonderful summer that went by way too fast.  The girls will start school on Tuesday and I started on Thursday of last week. I am very happy to have a job and to start this new adventure, but with it comes lots of stress and headache. I would love for the girls to go to school with me as I have had to find someone to watch the girls in the morning to take them to school (no easy task). In addition I have to leave them at after school care until I can pick them up every day. So much extra stress and expense. On top of it the girls have now seen my school and my classroom and keep saying that they want to go with me. I just keep telling myself that it is only 1 year and then hopefully we can all go to school together.
On the positive, Charlotte will be joining the same class of 25 that she has been with for the past 2 years and Emilie will be in a class with only 8 students, over half of whom we already know. This is comforting for them (and myself).
Enjoy school ladies and all the fun that should go with it. Mommy loves you!

Fete de Geneve, BBQ's, dinners--Summer in the city (and country)

Excenevex Beach

Long legs doing her thing :)

Checking things out

Our day started like this: colds and wind with a look of rain.

peek a boo!

Hi Mommy

looking for seashells

the sun came out after lunch, yea!

little fish

turned into a day of this, thankfully

everyone, run!!!!

amazing day with wonderful friends.

finished in the car like this :)

no nap for this big girl :)

Everyday has rained here. It really puts a damper on things. I am so thankful that we were able to have a day at the beach together and enjoy the sunshine. This beach is perfect for kids where the sand is soft and the water is shallow enough that they can really walk a while out and still touch. I kept thinking we were somewhere else by the ocean and then would snap back and realise that it was the lake and we were only 40 minutes from the house. Hopefully we can go again before the end of the summer.

The girls have new beds! I am thrilled to see these guys with their own beds as before we had Charlotte's bed turn into Emilie's and Charlotte was sleeping on the trundle. We kept the trundle, but now that is for guests and the girls can sleep together without hiding the bed in the morning. I am also super impressed that I built these beds myself. I think it took longer than the time quoted on the box for 2, but in the end I did it!!

Summer Fun......with cardboard boxes!

I have such great memories of spending time at my mom's store and just creating whatever I wanted with the extra boxes. Houses, spaceships, hiding spaces, endless possibilities. The girls spent forever playing with these boxes. It was really nice to see what they came up with.
